Picayune School District applies 100% of its Title II allocation yearly to reduce class size at its elementary schools.  The number of classes reduced in size each year depends on multiple factors: A school's poverty level, total number of students, and class size.  The District had the need and available funds to employ seven class-size reduction teachers during the 2009-2010 school year.

SMARTTRACK

SmartTrack™ is an Internet-based data collection, needs assessment, and evaluation tool for schools, districts, and states. It is being offered as a more efficient and accurate alternative to the current slate of pencil and paper assessments on student substance abuse and other risk and protective factors. Results will be immediately available to you, and research has shown that computer surveys, by increasing students’ feeling of anonymity, render higher, more accurate self-reporting than pencil/paper surveys. This information will be useful in identifying and addressing any problem areas, and reporting this data is now required as part of receiving Federal Funds (Title IV, et al).
